Candidate Profile: Meriam, Donald

I am a proud 25-year-old Two-Spirit individual born and raised in North Battleford. I am an activist, community ambassador, recipient of the Queen Elizabeth II Platinum Jubilee Medal, a UNICEF Canada Youth Advocate, and a Youth Ambassador for the Downie & Wenjack Fund. My life and work are rooted in advocating for inclusion, equity, and meaningful change, particularly for youth, Indigenous people, and marginalized voices.

I have worked with and supported many organizations and charitable causes, strengthening my understanding of collaboration, community needs, and the importance of preserving our stories while building a stronger future. While I have met influential leaders, it is the everyday people of North Battleford, families, youth, and elders who inspired me to seek elected office.

If elected, I will treat City Council as a full-time responsibility. I am committed to accessibility, accountability, and focusing on public safety, housing, youth engagement, and reconciliation, where everyone belongs.
