Welcome to the future of smart water management. Smart water meters will provide you with easy-to-understand water usage information. Alerts can be set up to notify you of excess water usage. You will have online tools you can use from anywhere with an internet connection.

Before you get started, make sure you have the following:

  • A valid email
  • A utility bill
    • On your bill, you will need: your account number
    • The security token

  • Go to the online portal
  • You will be taken to the Sign-in page, scroll down and click "Need to set up an account?"
  • Read and accept the terms by clicking "I Accept" at the bottom of the page.
  • Enter your email address, then click "Get Started."
  • Check your email inbox for an email from donotreply@sensus-analytics.ca, open the email and click on the activation link.
  • The link will take you to the account set up page. This is where you will need your account number and security token.

Important

When entering your account number, add dashes where your utility bill has a space. Your account number must be in this format: 123-1234567-123

  • Once you have filled out all the fields, click "Submit."
  • You will be now taken to the Sign-in page. Enter your email address and the password you just created and click "Sign in"
  • You are now signed in to the customer portal and now can explore your water usage data.

Transmitter

If you accidentally knock off the water meter transmitter from its location or if you need it moved for renovations, make a service request or call 306-445-1902.

Advance Metering Infrastructure (AMI) is a technology that allows utility meters to be read remotely. These upgraded water meters allow accurate on-demand, and automatic utility readings. A web portal will be provided later in the year providing users with in-depth information about their water consumption.

An accommodation program is available for residential properties. Accommodated properties will have a new AMI compatible water meter installed without the radio transmitter. To be eligible for the accommodation program, property owners or tenants with owner's acknowledgement need to complete the application form and agree to monthly fees and future radio installation removal fees (at the time of the radio removal or installation) and agree to allow a City worker to enter the premises on a quarterly basis to complete manual meter reads.

Smart water meter upgrades provide benefits to you and to the City. These upgraded meters will give you useful information, which allows you to make informed decisions about your water usage. The City can also pinpoint water issues quickly, which limits wasting of water.

This on-demand information online at your fingertips and provides accurate usage. This means that your billing will be based on real data - not estimates. With smart water meters, you will no longer have to read your own meter and phone or mail in your usage.
