Your Mayor and Council

Mayor Hawtin was elected the first female Mayor for the City of North Battleford in November 2024, following three consecutive terms as an Elected North Battleford City Councillor since 2014. Along with her husband Mitch, Mayor Hawtin is raising two daughters and owns and operates Hawtin Plumbing Services. Mayor Hawtin attended the University of Saskatchewan College of Commerce, gained her Practical Nursing Diploma from the North West College in North Battleford, and worked for ten years as a Licensed Practical Nurse, before completing her Business Certificate and working as an Advertising Consultant, and subsequently full-time Business Manager.

Mayor Hawtin enjoys participating in shaping her community. She wants to ensure the community’s issues continue to be addressed through regional cooperation and solutions, while maintaining amenities for everyone to enjoy a high quality of life. She believes that effective leadership comes from listening, understanding, and working together, and that communicating with residents is essential in meaningful community decision-making.

My name is Thomas (Bill) Ironstand, and I am a lifelong resident of North Battleford.
I have been married to Patricia Whitecalf-Ironstand for 26 years. We have four sons Robin (Tyne), Zachary, Riley and Tommy (Madison), along with four amazing grandchildren.
I am employed as an Emergency Management Coordinator for Battle River Treaty 6 Health Centre and have worked in the trades for most of my life as a carpenter and in the electrical field. I also worked as a Project Manager for the Saskatchewan Indian Institute of Technologies, where I led a team, developed training and employment opportunities for community members. These jobs have given me an insight into the blue-collar and hardworking values of North Battleford families.
I volunteer with many community groups including; the Multicultural Council of Saskatchewan, Battleford Immigration Resource Centre and have had the great fortune of being awarded a Lifetime Friend of the Boys and Girls Club award. I have coached Girls Softball, Minor Baseball, Boys and Girls Club Hockey, Battlefords Outdoor Hockey League and Battlefords Minor Hockey.
North Battleford is an amazing place to raise a family; our schools, citizens and community facilities are first class. The diversity of the community brings so many rich and colourful cultures together, with the potential to learn and grow as people and as a community.
I look forward to working for all the citizens of North Battleford and can be reached by my email.
