General Information Request

A general information request is any request that is not a personal request or that is not readily available on the City’s website.

Examples of a general information request record made under the Act include

  • Investigation, compliance and enforcement records
  • Fire investigation and inspection reports
  • Animal control files
  • Procurement documents (bid information, awarded contracts, invoices and purchase orders)
  • Environmental assessments and reports
  • Property records (building plans, permits, building inspections, tax assessments)
  • Service reports
  • Information about City projects
  • Reports to Council (that are not publicly available, for example, archived minutes, agendas, reports, videotapes and audiotapes of City Council meetings, miscellaneous additional information such as presentations to City Council.)
