Inspections

We have contracted the Construction Code Authority (CCA) to do building inspections. They complete building plan reviews and site inspections on behalf of the City.

When you receive a building permit, an inspection schedule will be attached. Allow 48 hours for inspections.

Residential

• New home construction requires five inspections.
• Smaller projects like decks and detached garages requires one inspection.
• Finishing a basement, renovation or secondary suite requires two inspections.

Commercial or industrial

For commercial or industrial projects, the building inspectors work with the contractor, owner and/or site personnel to arrange specific stage and cyclical inspections.
