Killdeer Park

Herb Sparrow, a former Senator and owner of Killdeer Farms, subdivided a portion of his land into Killdeer Park in 1979. Paciwin

Paciwin is the Cree name of Senator John B. Tootoosis from Poundmaker First Nation. He was a crusader for Indigenous rights at the turn of the century. Sapp Valley

Sapp Valley is named after Allen Sapp from Red Pheasant Cree Nation. Allen Sapp is widely regarded as one of Canada’s foremost Indigenous painters. His paintings portray the ordinary day-to-day life that he lived with his grandparents on the reserve in 1930s and 1940s. He was also a well-known Pow Wow dancer. Mr. Sapp was appointed as an Officer of the Order of Canada in 1987 for his achievements. Mr. Sapp spent the later years of his life living in North Battleford until his passing in 2015.

Optioning a Lot

Optioning a Lot is the first step in purchasing a lot. Optioning a lot gives you the right of first refusal on a lot if someone else expresses interest in buying it. It does not give you legal claim to the land. If someone wants to buy the lot that you have placed an option on, we will contact you. The steps to option a lot are:

  1. Complete Land Option Application Form and submit to City of North Battleford
  2. Pay $3,000 Land Option per lot being optioned
    1. In the event that an Option to Purchase Property is not executed, the funds paid with this application shall be refunded less a $1,500.00 administration fee for residential or 5% ($1,500.00 minimum) administration fee for commercial/industrial land.
    2. In the event that an Option to Purchase Property is executed, the City of North Battleford will credit the full deposit to the purchase price in the Option to Purchase Property

Once optioned, you have 60 days to pay remaining balance of the fees owing on the lot.

Purchasing a Lot

Once we receive full payment for the lot, we will send you an Option to Purchase Agreement. You can start building on your land once you obtain the required permit(s) including a building permit and/or a development permit.

Once the balance of fees owing is paid off and construction has begun, we will transfer title to you.
