Battlefords RCMP | City of North Battleford

The Battlefords RCMP detachment provides policing services to the City of North Battleford, Town of Battleford, and surrounding areas and communities.

Under the command of an Inspector, the police resources are split to provide services based on budget lines. The overall establishment of the Detachment is 59 full-time members (23 of whom are funded by the Provincial Government or under Community Tripartite Agreements to provide policing services in the rural areas).

Crimes that can be reported online

The following crimes can be reported through the Online Crime Reporting tool:

Damage/mischief to property under $5,000
Theft of bicycle under $5,000
Theft under $5,000
Theft from vehicle under $5,000
Lost or found property
Damage/mischief to vehicle under $5000

Incidents must also satisfy the following conditions to be reported online:

No witnesses or suspects
Item(s) lost or stolen must cost less than $5,000
Vandalized property that will cost less than $5,000 to repair
There are no items involving personal identity, firearms, license plates or decals

If an incident does not fall within the reportable incident types, your local RCMP detachment must be contacted. Crime reported online will be treated the same as crime reported in any other way.

About the RCMP detachment

The City of North Battleford contracts for 36 RCMP member positions and 9 support staff. The Province of Saskatchewan provides an annual grant for seven RCMP positions through the Enhanced Policing Policy Initiative up to a maximum of $770,000. The school divisions provide partial funding for one dedicated School Liaison Position $48,000.

General Duty: Four watches per day, each consisting of a Corporal Supervisor/Investigator and six Constable Investigators. The watches work 10 to 12-hour shifts on a rotation and provide policing services to the detachment area 24 hours per day, seven days per week.

School Liaison and Crime Prevention: The school liaison officer works in the three North Battleford high schools, to provide educational awareness on police-related issues. The Community Policing member works on community and crime prevention projects, including Crime Stoppers. Report anonymous tips about missing persons or any crimes by phone 1-800-222-8477 or online - tips can be eligible for rewards of up to $2000 in cash.

Two officers work in conjunction with the Provincial Intensive Supervision Habitual Offender Program (ISHOP). These officers help supervise youth who are the subject of court-ordered supervision. In addition, they take on the supervision of other youth and adults as time permits
