The City of North Battleford is seeking an organized and dependable Exhibits Clerk to support the secure handling, documentation and continuity of exhibits and evidence at the Battlefords’ RCMP Detachment.
Reporting to the RCMP Detachment Services Manager, you will safeguard exhibits and evidence from receipt through final disposition, maintain accurate records and provide trusted guidance on handling requirements. Your work will help preserve continuity for court purposes while ensuring compliance with RCMP policies, legislation and established procedures.
What You’ll Do
• Receive, categorize, secure, store and maintain exhibits and evidence to protect continuity for court and disposition purposes.
• Maintain complete and accurate information in RCMP and other law-enforcement databases, including PROS and SPMD records.
• Monitor diary dates and notify investigators of upcoming exhibit and evidence requirements.
• Provide guidance to internal and external partners on proper evidence handling and documentation.
• Coordinate the lawful destruction, disposal, return or other disposition of exhibits, evidence and property.
• Track seized funds, maintain exhibit-management manuals and historical reports, and ensure necessary supplies and equipment are available.
• Provide sworn testimony in court, when required, regarding the history and movement of evidence.
What You Bring
• Grade 12 diploma or GED.
• At least three years of experience working with the Police Occurrence Reporting System (PROS).
• Previous experience with and knowledge of the Canadian Police Information Centre (CPIC).
• Knowledge of the Criminal Justice Information Management System (CJIMS).
• Working knowledge of safe firearm, hazardous-material and dangerous-goods handling.
• Familiarity with relevant federal and provincial legislation, municipal bylaws and the criminal justice system.
• Strong written communication, organization, time-management, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• The ability to manage competing priorities and demanding workloads with accuracy, tact and discretion.
• A high standard of ethics, confidentiality and workplace safety.
• Ability to attain PROS Storekeeper Role Based Access Control and obtain and maintain RCMP reliability/security clearance and a restricted firearms licence.
What to Expect
This position works in a busy policing environment and requires frequent attention to detail amid interruptions, changing priorities and firm deadlines. Duties may involve travel to off-site storage locations, outdoor work in varied weather, occasional evening or weekend overtime, and lifting or moving exhibits weighing up to 50 lb. The role may also involve protected handling of hazardous materials and exposure to graphic or disturbing information, photographs or exhibits.

Out of Scope Salary Grid $62,416 to $77,782.
Hours of Work:
Day Shift 0800-1700, Monday - Friday
