Ref # FO001 - Facility Operator -Temporary Full-Time - CUPE

The City of North Battleford has a Facility Operator position available in the Parks and Recreation Department. The Facility Operator contributes to the effectiveness of the NationsWEST Field House through the maintenance, upkeep, and overall cleanliness of the facility.  This position interacts with recreation users and assists with programs and special events with the goal of providing a fun and safe experience
Reporting to the InnovationPlex General Manager, Facility Operators are responsible for enforcing regulations and policies at the facility and assisting with the preparation of the facility and equipment for rentals, special events and programming.  Provides a clean, safe, secure and efficiently operated environment and daily direction to Facility Attendants while on duty.  
Roles and Responsibilities 
•    Complete custodial tasks and facility maintenance while following the appropriate checklists, scheduled and procedures
•    Monitor users to make sure the facility is used for activities according to established scheduled and bookings
•    Set up and take down Field House areas, including netting, turf, equipment, meeting and programming spaces according to facility schedule
•    Communicate, using a respectful and professional approach, with facility users to ensure their facility-related needs are met and issues are addressed
•    Mentor and orientate facility staff in the safe operation of equipment and general facility operations, following relevant policies and procedures
•    Clean, mop, wash, sweep vacuum, polish, dust and empty waste and recycle bins in designated areas
•    Remove all exterior and interior waste from garbage and recycling bins daily
•    Ensure that all InnovationPlex exterior walkways and doorways are clear of snow, ice, leaves, bark, and debris, including the Rotary Plaza and Curling Rink back doorways
•    Secure the facility at the end of each evening shift
•    Complete required paperwork/computer work, checklists, equipment/vehicle log sheets, timesheets, pre-job sheets, etc

Qualifications 
•    Successful completion of Grade 12 or GED equivalent deemed acceptable by the City. 
•    Valid Standard First Aid/CPR – C/AED Certification
•    Valid Class 5 Saskatchewan driver’s license
•    Provide a clear Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Section upon hire.

Rate of Pay:           $23.77 (2024 CUPE)    
Hours of Work:    Rotating shifts – Must be available 7 days a week, weekends and evenings
