Ref # BMN001 - Building Maintenance I - Full-Time - CUPE
The City of North Battleford has a Building Maintenance I position available in the Fleet and Building Maintenance Services. Reporting to the Building Maintenance Supervisor, the Building Maintenance I is part of a team responsible for the maintenance and repair of City-owned buildings and related building mechanical equipment and systems. The responsibilities include performing regular HVAC maintenance, building repairs, light plumbing work, carpentry, drywalling, painting, and monitoring of building control systems including arena refrigeration. The Building Maintenance I also participate in an on-call hour after-hour emergency response schedule and occasional overtime as required.
Qualifications
• Grade 12 High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Valid Saskatchewan Class 5 Drivers License
• Minimum of 1 year of demonstrated experience in the field of building maintenance and building systems.
• Fireman’s Certificate for boiler operation is required or must be obtained within 18 months.
• Knowledge of general building mechanical operations and repair, regular building maintenance, and building control systems.
• Knowledge of arena refrigeration systems and air conditioning.
• Knowledge of painting, drywalling and mudding.
• Knowledge of general carpentry and basic electrical and plumbing skills.
• Ability to use basic computer software including Microsoft Office.
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize and manage conflicting demands.

• Provide a Criminal Record Check upon hire and enhanced RCMP security clearance is required and must be obtained within 12 months of employment

Year 1 $25.58 Year 2 $26.22 Year 3 $26.88 (CUPE 2024)
Hours of Work:
8 hrs/day; 40 hrs/week; Monday to Friday
