Battlefords CO-OP Aquatic Centre rules and guidelines

Please review our rules and guidelines.

Locks for lockers

Tokens for lockers are no longer available. Patrons are encouraged to bring their own locks to secure personal belongings in lockers. Locks remaining on lockers after hours will be removed, and personal belongings will be placed in a lost and found at the reception desk. The facility is not responsible for items left behind after closing time. Be sure to remove all personal items and locks after each visit to the Aquatic Centre.

Swimming instructions

For the safety of all patrons, the City of North Battleford does not permit individuals or external groups to provide swim instruction in our facility. Swim instruction is restricted to City of North Battleford Parks and Recreation qualified and certified swimming instructors. Arrangements can be made for private instruction by contacting an on-site staff member. Individuals or external groups suspected of providing swim instruction or exhibiting the behaviours to individuals or groups listed below, will be asked to stop.

  • Writing or designing a lesson plan

  • Demonstrating or explaining specific skills in the water or on the deck

  • Providing feedback and corrections as it relates to a specific skill, including assisting a patron with technique

Pool supervision

All children under 8 years old MUST be accompanied by a person of at least 14 years old - that person must be in the water and within arm's reach of the child. The maximum number of children under 8 years old per one parent/ guardian is 3.

Programming

The areas of the pool where programming is in session are restricted to registered patrons only. Public swimmers are asked to utilize other areas of the pool while programming is in session.

The program schedule is listed daily on the whiteboard at the reception desk. Signage indicating programming can also be found in the pool deck and change rooms. If you are unclear of where to swim, please ask your lifeguard.

Breastfeeding

Breastfeeding mothers need the community's support, and the City of North Battleford supports mothers who wish to breastfeed at any of our facilities. Breastfeeding is an accepted practice at all City facilities.

Late to classes

We ask that all participants to arrive before their class begins and, if possible, to stay for the entire class. Our fitness classes are designed to include a warm-up, workout, and cool down. For your safety and well-being, please arrive on time.

Battlefords CO-OP Aquatic Centre thanks you for helping us to keep everyone safe.

Always follow the instructions of the lifeguard

  • Lifeguards have the authority to remove anyone who is not following the rules or displaying disruptive behaviour.

  • Listen for lifeguard WHISTLES/VOICES. If you hear one, they may be trying to get your attention.

Respect

  • Everyone deserves respect. Verbal and physical abuse, aggressive, offensive, intimidating, or disrespectful behaviour will not be tolerated by anyone attending City facilities.

Pool supervision

  • Children under 8 years old MUST be accompanied by a person at least 14 years old and this person must be in the water and within arm's reach of the child.

  • The maximum number of children under 8 years of age per parent/guardian is three (3), regardless of how well the child can swim.
