“Pack the Patrol Unit” returns to support the Humane Society

To bolster donations for the Battlefords Humane Society, Community Safety Officers are once again hosting their wildly-successful “Pack the Patrol Unit” initiative – this year, at five different local businesses.

Last year’s event saw $1800 in cash raised and 4100lbs of food collected. This year, CSOs have increased their fundraising goals to $2000 in donations and 5000lbs of food. Volunteers and staff from the Humane Society, along with volunteers from Citizens on Patrol, will be assisting at each business location in 2023.

CSO patrol units will be set up from 1:00-4:00pm on December 1st to accept donations of dog food, puppy chow, soft/wet dog food, pet beds, pet blankets, leashes, collars, treats, cat toys and scratching posts, non-clumping cat litter, and cat/kitten food.

Donations will be accepted at the following locations:

  • Walmart
  • No Frills
  • PetValu
  • Canadian Tire
  • Giant Tiger

CSO Unit Commander, Jerry Koliniak, has been instrumental in spearheading this initiative over the years to support the Humane Society. “It’s certainly nice to give back to such a wonderful organization, particularly when our Community Safety Officers work so closely with the animals and staff at the Battlefords Humane Society,” commented Koliniak.

“We have experienced incredible generosity from our community over the years and we look forward to seeing everyone help us pack our patrol units on December 1st.”
