Municipal by-election nomination period opens Wednesday; candidate info session set for Thursday evening
Residents interested in running in the 2026 City of North Battleford Municipal By-Election for a vacant City Councillor seat should take note of a couple of important dates this week.
The Nomination Period kicks off December 3rd (Wednesday) at 9am. Candidates can file their Nomination Packages with the City’s Returning Officer or designate at City Hall weekdays between 9am-4:30pm from December 3rd until December 16th. On Nomination Day, December 17th, the deadline to submit nomination papers to the Returning Officer is 4:00pm.
For anyone who is interested in running for City Council, there is a Candidate Information Session set for Thursday, December 4th at the North Battleford Public Library Lecture Theatre. Elections staff members will present an overview of the roles and responsibilities of City Council, outline some of the regulations for campaigning, and answer questions that prospective candidates may have about the upcoming by-election. The presentation is scheduled for 4:00pm, ending at 6:00pm, and is in person only.
