Local agencies issue call-out to region to support wildfire evacuees in the Battlefords

With nearly 200 wildfire evacuees in North Battleford, most of whom did not have the opportunity to bring any possessions prior to leaving their home communities in the La Ronge area, there are a number of items which would be gratefully accepted for donation.

Urgently needed items in North Battleford include:

  • Toothbrushes/toothpaste
  • Diapers (all sizes), baby wipes, pull-ups
  • Formula/baby food
  • Clothing (all sizes/ages/genders) – must be clean, used clothing is acceptable
  • Non-perishable snack food items
  • Personal hygiene products
  • Toiletries

These donations may be dropped off daily starting June 5, 2025, between 8am and 7pm at the bay doors of the Northland Power Curling Centre (#2-623 Carlton Trail). The bay doors are located at the back of the facility.

If community groups, individuals, businesses are in a position to provide any of these items, it is much appreciated. The generosity shown to our northern evacuees thus far continues to demonstrate the incredible sense of spirit that unites the Battlefords region.

Those wishing to provide a financial contribution may donate to the Canadian Red Cross. Dollars donated in Saskatchewan will remain in the province, with the federal government matching each contribution.

Evacuees in North Battleford connected with the Red Cross are asked to contact 1-800-863-6582 for additional assistance. Evacuees in North Battleford connected with the Saskatchewan Public Safety Agency may call 1-855-559-5502 or visit this link.
