City of North Battleford launches new website

Visitors to the City of North Battleford’s website will notice significant upgrades to the city’s online platform today, after a months-long project to develop a new website recently wrapped up.

Communications Administrator Dustin MacDonald unveiled the newly-built www.cityofnb.ca site during Monday’s City Council meeting with a site tour. Councillor Kelli Hawtin provided positive feedback on the new design, noting that there were difficulties even for City Councillors in sometimes navigating the City’s former website.

MacDonald highlighted the enhanced accessibility for persons experiencing disability as a key upgrade.

“The new cityofnb.ca site has been conceived and re-written for content – more than 160 pages worth of content – to be easier to maneuver for persons with visual impairment accessing the site with the assistance of a screenreader. Quick access icons make it much more simple to navigate. Overall, the change will make the City’s website much more user-friendly and optimized for desktop, tablet, and mobile site viewing.”

GHD Digital Public Sector Solutions was awarded the contract in 2022 following a public bidding process for the website’s development, design, layout, and annual hosting services. The cost for the new site totals $19,405, with an annual website hosting fee of just under $7,000.
