City encourages e-billing sign-ups & text reminders for utility billing during postal strike

The City of North Battleford is urging utility customers to make arrangements for receipt of upcoming utility bills via email as a postal strike is said to be effective September 26, 2025.

The next round of utility bills are due to be sent out October 1st - however, because no mail is being processed, physical paper copies of utility bills will not be sent.

Instead, utility bills will be sent by email to anyone who has signed up for e-billing. This service is free of charge and customers are encouraged to sign up without delay at this link. Consumers can also sign up for free text reminders, which will notify customers about any outstanding balances and payment deadlines, helping them to avoid service disconnections. Penalties for late payments will still apply.

Utility customers can also call or visit City Hall at 306-445-1700 during regular business hours to confirm the amount owing for their current bill. Utility payments can be made in person at City Hall (using cash, cheque, debit card, or money order), or online using a credit card. Cheques which are hand-delivered to City Hall should be made payable to ‘City of North Battleford’.

Vendors or contractors that wish to send invoices to the City of North Battleford are encouraged to send them electronically to accountspayable@cityofnb.ca. The City of North Battleford will be issuing only electronic fund transfers (EFTs) during the postal strike, so those anticipating payments from the City should contact the Finance Department to provide banking information in lieu of a mailed cheque.

The City of North Battleford thanks the public in advance for their cooperation during this interruption to postal services.
