2023 Assessment Roll will open Thursday of this week

The City of North Battleford advises that the 2023 Assessment Roll has been prepared and will open for a 30-day period on Thursday, March 23, 2023. The Roll will be open up to and including April 21, 2023.

During this 30-day period, any person who wishes to appeal their SAMA (Saskatchewan Assessment Management Agency) property valuation may do so. Appeals may only be filed during this timeframe.

The City’s external Assessor conducts revaluations of properties based on a 4-year cycle. The last revaluation occurred in 2019. Assessment in Saskatchewan are retrospective, therefore, the 2021 to 2024 property values are reflective of the market conditions as of January 1, 2019.

Residents who would like more information have the following four options:

1. The City will host an Open House sessions on April 12 and April 13. The Open House sessions are by appointment only. Appointments can be virtual or in person.
2. Residents may review their property assessments on SAMA’s website. (
3. Residents who would like to discuss their assessment can contact SAMA directly.
4. Residents can request property assessments by City Hall, however, it is encouraged that residents should make an appointment.

This year, the City is also reminding residents that if they would like to change their designated school support, the same 30-day timeframe (March 23-April 21, 2023) applies. Those wishing to change their school support can email the City’s Tax Clerk with this request.
