City of North Battleford Roadway crews are busy removing snow from our streets following the major snow event over the Christmas holidays. Although crews were out Christmas Day and Boxing Day working hard at clearing away accumulated snow along collector roads, crews continue to prioritize snow clearing in the city. “The focus this week will be snow removal in residential areas,” stated Waterworks and Roadways Supervisor, Joe Gagne. Plows will be clearing around illegally parked vehicles. To avoid any inconvenience and parking penalties, please obey restricted parking signs within the city.
To assist Roadway crews in effectively removing snow from your neighbourhood and to avoid receiving a parking ticket, please be sure to:
-
Remove your vehicles from the street during your on-street parking restriction day
-
Only place recycling and trash bins out during your pickup days
-
Do not shovel snow onto the street
With Priority 1 streets cleared, the City is now removing snow from residential streets according to our snow-plowing routes. While removing snow in Priority 2 zones, our crews are also working to clear snow from bus stops, fire hydrants, and school zones.
Remove your vehicles during your on street parking restriction and avoid getting ticketed.
Sometimes, intersections are closed during snow removal and blockades are set up to prevent accidents. Drivers must respect street closures and find alternate routes as it is not safe to pass plows, graders, and sanding trucks. Drivers are also reminded to reduce their driving speeds and to adjust to winter driving conditions. These precautions will ensure the safety of drivers, pedestrians, and City snow removal crews in these areas.
Sidewalks
Property owners are responsible for removing snow from sidewalks adjacent to their property. Residential properties have 48 hours to remove snow after a snowfall.
If you have had someone remove snow from your sidewalk, driveway, or steps, please help recognize them for their kind work by nominating them as a Snow Angel. You can nominate your Snow Angel today by sending their name, address, and a description of what they did to
