City residents have waste management bins damaged overnight
Reports to CSOs indicate 105th Street in 1200/1300 blocks impacted

City Hall and Community Safety Officers are receiving multiple calls from residents about damage to their waste management bins this morning.

City Administration has been informed that an unknown number of individuals allegedly damaged and destroyed bins that were curbside overnight on 105th Street on the 1200 and 1300 blocks. Crews are surveying bins this morning and bins that can be repaired will be repaired by the City. Bins damaged beyond repair will require replacement at the resident’s / property owner’s expense a cost of $120/bin + GST.

This type of property damage is considered an offense under the Criminal Code of Canada, Community Safety Officers and the RCMP are currently investigating.

To prevent occurrences such as these from happening in future, the City reminds residents to ensure that waste management bins are placed at curbside before 7:00am on the morning of scheduled pickups, and not the evening before. The City of North Battleford asks anyone who has information, including security camera footage, that may lead to the identification of the individual or individuals responsible for these acts of vandalism to please contact Community Safety Officers at 306-445-1775 or Battlefords RCMP at 306-446-1720.
