During a Special Meeting held via Zoom today, City Council authorized the City of North Battleford to apply to the Ministry of Corrections, Policing and Public Safety to be designated as an eligible assistance area under the Provincial Disaster Assistance Program (PDAP) to enable residents to apply for financial assistance resulting from the localized flooding throughout the City on June 13th, 2022.
In response to City Council’s approval, Mayor David Gillan said, “The Provincial Disaster Assistance Program will help our residents in restoring their properties to pre-flood conditions.”
If the City’s PDAP application is approved, residents will be responsible for completing their PDAP application and submitting their claim to the Province. Once the City application is approved or denied by the Province an additional news release with further details for residents will be issued. Watch www.cityofnb.ca for follow up information.
Property owners who have completed work must keep their receipts and photographs of the flood damage in anticipation of the City’s application approval to PDAP.
