Council Approves Property Tax Rates for 2021
Property tax notices to be mailed out by July 31st, due August 31st
July 23rd 2021

The City approved the property tax rates for the 2021 fiscal year. This year’s mill rate changes were calculated to fulfill the 1% increase in property tax revenue approved by City Council in December.

The mill rate impact on an occupied average residential property assessed at $153,190 with an average assessed property value increase of 1.24% is as follows:

The changes to mill rates approved by the City coincide with province-wide property revaluations, the changes made at the provincial level to the Education Property Tax (see above), and changes to the taxable value of commercial real estate. The City has updated its website with information regarding these changes.

Tax notices will be mailed out by July 31st. Taxes are due on August 31st.
