The City of North Battleford Parks and Recreation Department would like to recognize and thank the following Services Clubs for their commitment and support toward the Free Public Skating Programs during 2020

· Bonaventure Lions Club

· Kiwanis Club of the Battlefords

· North Battleford Elks Club

· North Battleford Kinsmen Club

· North Battleford Lions Club

· North West Hockey Development

· Rotary Club of the Battlefords

· St. Josephs Knights of Columbus #7336

2020 was a different and difficult year. Although restrictions and provincial guidelines affected many activities, fortunately public skating was deemed an allowable activity, although the maximum number of skaters was reduced to 30 per session.

The generous financial contributions from these organizations allows us to offer free public skating sessions throughout the year. During 2020 a total of 131 hours of free skating programs were offered and 2,217 participants attended.

Providing children and adults with a fun, family friendly recreational activity is an asset and benefit many residents can take advantage of.

The Free skating programs will continue to the end of March, with the following times:

Don Ross Arena. Preschool and Senior skating Thursdays: 10:00 - 11:30 am and 1:30 – 2:30 pm.

Access Communication Centre: Public Skating Saturdays 12:15 – 1:45 pm.

Additional public skating times are added to the schedule during holidays and school breaks, information can be found on the City Calendar at www.cityofnb.ca

Sponsoring the skating programs is only one of many community programs and projects these service clubs contribute to throughout the year.

Thank you!
