July 9th 2020

On July 7th & 8th, the City of North Battleford received over 125 mm of rain. This amount of rain in such a short time caused substantial flooding throughout the City.

The City of North Battleford held a Special Council meeting on Thursday, July 9th. At this Special Council meeting Council had approved a resolution to make an application to request designation as an eligible assistance area under the Provincial Disaster Assistance Program (PDAP). PDAP provides assistance for uninsurable losses of essential goods to help people get back to pre-disaster conditions.

The City of North Battleford will provide an update to residents on www.cityofnb.ca if the City is approved for PDAP.

For Residents

  • Contact your insurance provider for coverage

  • Keep detailed records of damage, work completed – receipts and photos

  • PDAP is not a substitute for private insurance

  • PDAP does not provide full compensation for losses
