Attendance is strong with approximately 2900 participants during the 2019 season

The City of North Battleford acknowledges the contribution of Service Clubs that make free public skating possible.

 

The City of North Battleford and the Leisure Services Department would like to thank the following Service Clubs for their generosity and support of the FREE Public Skating Program in 2019.

 

  • Bonaventure Lions Club

  • North Battleford Lions Club

  • Kiwanis Club of the Battlefords

  • North Battleford Kinsmen Club

  • The Royal Canadian Legion Branch #70

  • North West Hockey Development

  • Rotary Club of the Battlefords

  • North Battleford Elks Club

  • St. Josephs Knights of Columbus #7336

Through these sponsorships, the Leisure Services Department offers Free public skating programs to participants of all ages and abilities throughout the year. Preschoolers to seniors can take advantage of the following free ice times made possible by the support we receive from these service clubs.

  • Public Skating at the Civic Centre, Saturdays 12:15 pm – 1:45 pm

  • Three sessions a week of Preschool and Senior skating

    • Wednesdays 1:15 – 2:15 pm at the Civic Centre

    • Thursdays 10:00 am – 11:30 am at the Don Ross Arena

    • Thursdays 1:30 pm – 2:30 pm at the Don Ross Arena

Attendance is strong with approximately 2900 participants during the 2019 season. Approximately 148 hours of free programming was scheduled for skaters at both arenas with an additional 14 hours added during the December school holidays.

A huge thank you to all the members of these clubs, as this recreational opportunity would not be available without their dedication and hard work. These clubs contribute to many other community projects throughout the year helping to promote active lifestyles while assisting in building a healthy and strong community.
