October 21st 2019

At approximately 8:00 am on October 21st a minor fire at the Waste Management Facility (WMF) landfill was detected. The City of North Battleford Fire Department was called to assist the WMF staff with extinguishing the fire. Nine City of North Battleford Fire Department personnel were on the scene of the fire. The standard operating procedure to a fire resulted in the WMF closing to the public and the Saskatchewan Ministry of Environment being notified. No injuries occurred during the fire and the cause of the fire remains unknown.

The WMF has since re-opened to the public, thank you for your understanding and co-operation during this time.
