The City of North Battleford is excited to announce it has received funding for sanitary sewer trunk upgrades through the New Building Canada Fund. The Federal and Provincial governments will each be contributing $4,533,333.00 to the approximately 14-million dollar project.
“This funding agreement with both the Federal and Provincial government allows our City to improve and expand our infrastructure ensuring the protection of our waterways and the sustainable growth of our City.” announced Mayor Ryan Bater, adding “Without this funding agreement the City would not be able to complete this project on its own”.
With the climate bringing more extreme weather, this sanitary sewer trunk upgrade will help alleviate flooding issues in many areas of the City. The upgrade will increase capacity to handle water surges from intense storms and large runoffs. Future growth of the City will benefit from this increased capacity.
The City would like this opportunity to thank the Federal and Provincial governments for this funding to improve our City’s infrastructure and the City’s ability to help protect residents from potential flooding.
