Capital Works September Update
Monthly Update on City of North Battleford 2018 Capital Works Projects
September 19th 2018

101st Street – 12th to 14th Avenue

Roadway reconstruction work is complete along the 1200 block of 101st Street and the block is opened to vehicles and pedestrians. Some street fixture installation is planned for the coming weeks, which will result in some short-term localized road closures along the 1200 block. The 1300 block is closed to traffic and pedestrians while roadway reconstruction is underway. Work along the 1300 block has been delayed by recent wet weather, and will remain closed for a further 2-3 weeks. Access to affected businesses will be disrupted while the work proceeds. Please see the attached business access map showing alternate construction access locations on the 1300 block. The project is expected to be completed by September 28th. No further water service disruptions or drinking water advisories are expected. Roadways work is being performed by K&S Asphalt.

Deanscroft Avenue and 112th Street Storm Sewer

Storm Sewer manhole installation is completed, with roadway restoration planned for the coming weeks. Underground work was performed by Unicon Pipeline, and Roadways by K&S Asphalt.

Douglas Avenue and 101st Crescent rehabilitation

Paving work is complete and the area is opened to traffic. Underground work was performed by Unicon Pipeline, and Roadways by K&S Asphalt.

105th Street – 10th to 11th Avenue rehabilitation

Roadway restoration is underway and the road will remain closed while the work proceeds. The project has been delayed by recent wet weather, and is expected to be completed by September 21st. Underground work was performed by Unicon Pipeline, and Roadways by K&S Asphalt.

98th Street 17th to 18th Avenue rehabilitation

Roadway restoration is underway and the road will remain closed while the work proceeds. The project has been delayed by recent wet weather, and is expected to be completed by September 28th. Underground work was performed by Unicon Pipeline, and Roadways by K&S Asphalt.

15th Avenue Water Main connection – 107th to 110th Street

Underground Utility work is completed and roadway restoration is underway. The project has been delayed by recent wet weather, and is expected to be completed by September 28th. Underground work will be performed by Unicon Pipeline, and Roadways by K&S Asphalt.

20th Avenue Sanitary Sewer connection – 100th to 101st Street

Underground Utility work is underway and is expected to be complete by September 28th with road restoration to follow. Road closures will be in effect, and access to affected businesses will be disrupted while the work proceeds. Roadway restoration will follow the underground work and is expected to be completed by October 5th. Underground work will be performed by Unicon Pipeline, and Roadways by K&S Asphalt.

Killdeer Park

Paving work is completed and the area is open to traffic.

Fairview Heights Grading and Drainage Project

Grading work is underway with underground pipe construction planned for the following weeks. This project is expected to be completed on October 15th.

Airport CAP Runway Paving

Runway milling is underway, with paving work planned to follow. The airport will remain closed while the work proceeds. The project has been delayed by recent wet weather, and is expected to be completed by September 28th. Roadway work is being performed by K&S Asphalt.

The City urges motorists to use caution when travelling through the work zones, and respect the safety of workers. The patience and understanding of the public, residents and businesses in affected areas is appreciated during these important rehabilitation projects
