101st Street – 12th to 14th Avenue

Underground pipe work along the 1200 block of 101st Street is complete. The 1200 block of 101st Street will be closed to all vehicles and pedestrians starting Monday June 4th. Access to affected businesses will be disrupted while the work proceeds. Please see the attached business access map showing alternate construction access locations - https://www.cityofnb.ca/mrws/filedriver/2018_UPAR/1200_Block_Business_Access_2018.pdf. The closure of the 1200 block is expected to be in place for 6 to 8 weeks. Underground work is also planned to proceed this week along the 1300 block of 101st street. The 1300 block of 101st street will be closed to vehicles, but remain open to pedestrians. The underground work on the 1300 block is expected to be completed by June 15th. The 1300 block will then be opened to vehicles and pedestrians until the 1200 block is completed and opened. The 1200 block is expected to be opened to pedestrians July 27th. At this time the 1300 block will be closed for 6-8 weeks for roadway reconstruction. The project is expected to be completed by September 14th. Water service disruptions are expected on the 1300 block while pipes are being replaced. Businesses will be notified prior to service disruptions and affected addresses will be on a drinking water advisory. Underground work will be performed by Unicon Pipeline, and Roadways by K&S Asphalt.

97th Street – 13th to 15th Avenue

Paving is complete and the street is opened to traffic. Boulevard restoration is planned to for this week. Roadway work will be performed by G&C Asphalt.

99th Street – 12th to 13th Avenue

Concrete sidewalk reconstruction is underway and is expected to be complete by June 6th, and paving is planned for June 7th. Boulevard restoration is planned to follow the paving work. Roadway work will be performed by G&C Asphalt.

Deanscroft Avenue and 112th Street Storm Sewer

Storm sewer manhole installation is planned to begin June 11th and proceed to June 15th. Road Closures will be in effect on Deanscroft Avenue from 112th Street to 113th Street, and on 112th Street from Deanscroft Avenue to 13th Avenue. Underground work will be performed by Unicon Pipeline, and Roadways by K&S Asphalt.

Cast in Place Pipe (CIPP) Sewer Lining Program

Pipeline inspection crews will be accessing the sewer system at various locations throughout the City from June 4th to June 14th. Crews will then be returning in July to install pipe liners in sewers. Temporary road closures will be in effect as the work progresses. Affected residents will be notified prior to the liner installation. CIPP Liner work will be performed by Insituform Technologies.

Thomas Avenue and Abbott Avenue rehabilitation

Underground Utility work is planned for June 4th to June 29th along Thomas Avenue, and part of Abbot Avenue from Panton Avenue to Thomas Avenue. Temporary localized road closures will be in effect as the underground work proceeds. Roadway milling and Paving will begin following the completion of underground work, and will require larger scale road closures. Underground work will be performed by City crews, and Unicon Pipeline, and Roadways by K&S Asphalt.

Douglas Avenue and 101st Crescent rehabilitation

Underground Utility work is planned for June 29th to July 15th along Douglas Avenue and 101st Crescent from 101st Street to Dunning Crescent. Temporary localized road closures will be in effect as the underground work proceeds. Milling and Paving will begin following the completion of underground work, and will require larger scale road closures. Underground work will be performed by Unicon Pipeline, and Roadways by K&S Asphalt.

105th Street – 10th to 11th Avenue rehabilitation

Underground Utility work is planned for June 29th to July 27th along 105th Street from 10th to 11th Avenue. Road closures, water service disruptions, and drinking water advisories will be in place. Roadway restoration will follow the underground work, and is expected to be completed by August 24th. Underground work will be performed by Unicon Pipeline, and Roadways by K&S Asphalt.

98th Street 17th to 18th Avenue rehabilitation

Underground Utility work is planned for July 27th to August 31st along 98th Street from 17th to 18th Avenue. Road closures, water service disruptions, and drinking water advisories will be in place. Roadway restoration will follow the underground work, and is expected to be completed by September 21st. Underground work will be performed by Unicon Pipeline, and Roadways by K&S Asphalt.

15th Avenue Water Main connection – 107th to 110th Street

Underground Utility work is planned for September 4th to September 15th along 15th Avenue from 107th to 110th Street. Road closures, water service disruptions, and drinking water advisories will be in place. Roadway restoration will follow the underground work, and is expected to be completed by September 21st. Underground work will be performed by Unicon Pipeline, and Roadways by K&S Asphalt.

20th Avenue Sanitary Sewer connection – 100th to 101st Street

Underground Utility work is planned for September 15th to September 30th along 20th Avenue from 100th to 101st Street. Road closures, water service disruptions, and drinking water advisories will be in place. Roadway restoration will follow the underground work, and is expected to be completed by October 15th. Underground work will be performed by Unicon Pipeline, and Roadways by K&S Asphalt.

Civic Centre Parking Lot

Parking lot reconstruction at the Civic Centre is planned to begin July 9th to August 6th. The north and west parking lots will be closed as the work proceeds.

Henderson Amos Lane

Reconstruction of the lane between Henderson Drive and Amos Drive, from Territorial Drive to Buhler Avenue is planned for June 11th to June 22nd. The lane will be closed as the work proceeds.

Killdeer Park

Roadway and shallow buried utilities construction is underway, and expected to be completed June 15th for Sandpiper Road and Finch Crescent. The area will remain closed as the work proceeds.

 The City urges motorists to use caution when travelling through the work zones, and respect the safety of workers. The patience and understanding of the public, residents and businesses in affected areas is appreciated during these important rehabilitation projects.
