The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) is the Canadian national police service and an agency of the Ministry of Public Safety and Emergency Preparedness Canada. The City of North Battleford and the Battlefords RCMP have a partnership that dates back several years.
The City has a contract with the RCMP to supply 31 members, which includes the requirement to pay 70% of the cost per officer. The City is also responsible for the hiring of 10 full-time municipal employees as support staff to members at the RCMP Detachment. 8 of the support staff work in the call centre and 2 are administrative employees. These costs are among the highest expenses to the City.
The RCMP has a City detachment and a Rural detachment, both located at 1052-101st Street in North Battleford.
